Summers can be hot and humid, and bring thunderstorms, and the winter can bring plenty of snow (like anywhere there are winter paddlers in this region, just dress appropriately), while the Atlantic can temper the coastal conditions. In Spring and Fall the water temps, and river flow can vary dramatically. Like everywhere experience and a little guidance go a long way towards enjoying the 8 months of the primary paddle season (April -November), and definitely are required for the colder months in between.
