CA Level 1 Intro to SUP - 3 Hour Class

An intro class that will go over the following skills:
Equipment: Types of boards, paddles, leashes, PFDs
Launching: Off beach and docks
Paddle: Sizing, holding while kneeling/standing, switching sides
Strokes: Forward, reverse, sweeps (turns), cross-bow, bracing, draws
Stance: Neutral and staggered variations, kneeling, sitting
Safety & Rescue: Paddle tow or tether tow, injured or unresponsive rescue, float plan
Nautical Rules/Water Safety: USCG, local safety requirements, safety in multi-use areas

Your instructor, Dee, is an ACA Level 2 Certified SUP Instructor, Paddlefit Certified SUP Instructor, NASM CPT Certified Personal Trainer, HMS Human Movement Specialist, WPA Certified SUP instructor, Bliss Paddle Yoga Certified SUP Yoga instructor, CPR/AED/First Aid Certified, NOLS Wilderness First Aid, Surfset Certified instructor and holds a Boater's Safety Certificate.

Rentals are available for an additional $5/pp. 16+ years old required.

Location: Sunset Park, 1 West Salem Ave., Harvey Cedars, NJ 08008. That will bring you into the park. Follow the rock path behind the basketball courts and you will see additional parking. There a small boat ramp to launch from there. Bathrooms are available and an outdoor shower as well.
