Learn how to stand up paddle and have SUP lessons at Gulf to Bay SUP, an ASI accredited learn to stand up paddle school, located at Sanibel Island, Florida.
Sanibel Island is located along the Gulf of Mexico, just a short drive from Fort Myers. More than half the island is made up of wildlife sanctuaries with mangroves, stunning white beaches, and crystal clear waters. It’s rated number 4 in the world as the best place to find shells. They wash up on the beach in their hundreds.
Gulf to Bay is owned and operated by Wil Compton. He is an experienced waterman and has been in or on the water of Sanibel and Captiva Islands for 40 plus years. Will also regularly competes in SUP races including competing in the Florida State Championships. (Third in Age Group - 2hours 51 min).
Wil started the SUP School in 2011. He has a passion for SUP and enjoys passing that knowledge onto his students as well as passing on interesting information about the local area.
He is an ASI Level 2 SUP Instructor (Exposed waters), holds SUP Rescue certificate and Red Cross Life Guard qualifications. He is also a USCG Licensed Master and Certified A.C.E. Stand Up Instructor. He is assisted in the school with experienced and accredited SUP Instructors.
Gulf to Bay SUP offers group and private SUP lessons, SUP tours, and fitness workouts for kids, adults, parties, school groups, universities, and corporates. SUP hire is also available.
Lessons are held on the north / west side of Sanibel Causeway Island - a designated Manatee sanctuary and a sand/shell beach in protected waters by Fishermans Key. The locations are ideal for supping with calm protected waters.
