Shoalhaven Heads is a tranquil beach resort town located where the Shoalhaven River flows into the ocean. SUP lessons are held on the Shoalhaven River within the national park. It’s perfect for paddling with calm, sheltered waters.
The Surfing and SUP school is owned and operated by Michael Chapple. He was born and raised in the town of Shoalhaven Heads and has over 23 years of ocean experience with surfing and bodyboarding. He also competed professionally on the Australian and World Bodyboarding Tours with a top ranking of 16 in the world.
Michael is school teacher trained and spent his teenage years as a volunteer lifeguard at Shoalhaven Heads Surf Club. He holds ASI Level 1 SUP Instructor (Enclosed Flat Water), ASI Level 1 Surfing Instructor, Bronze Medallion, Surf Rescue and Senior First Aid Certificates. Michael is assisted in the school by ASI accredited instructors.
Shoalhaven Heads Surf School is accredited to provide SUP lessons in enclosed flat water locations. The school offers group and private SUP lessons, certificate courses, SUP tours for kids, adults, parties, school groups, backpackers, universities and corporates. They are also an ASI accredited surf school and you can also book surfing and bodyboarding lessons.
