We have been offering SUP clinics in conjunction with Marin County Parks since 2009. Our clinics are geared toward first-time and novice paddlers wishing to learn to paddle in relatively calm conditions as well as intermediate paddlers wishing to improve their balance, stance, paddle stroke, and water knowledge.

Our stand-up paddleboard clinics take place at McNears Beach Park in San Rafael. Clinics are usually held in the morning, but the time may vary depending on the tide.

Stand-up Paddleboarding, or “SUP” as we refer to it, is an awesome way to spend time outdoors, on the water, while getting a great workout. Balancing on the board takes little time to master and opens up endless recreational possibilities from a quiet early morning paddle on a serene lake to downwind racing on a big swell to surfing big waves only accessible with a paddleboard or jet ski. Though we welcome the more advanced, for the novice paddlers, our main goal is to get your “sea legs” relaxed and comfortable while traveling on the board.
